The team at the award-winning Artichoke restaurant (they have just won the Good Food Guide’s Best New Entry award) have created a real dining destination in this characterful, cosy 16th Century building in the heart of Old Amersham. Head chef and co-owner Laurie Gear’s time at restaurants including the renowned Noma show, in his carefully created, Modern European dishes, which also feature ingredients foraged from the surrounding area. The restaurant is decorated with simple whitewashed walls, original beams and walnut wood, and is ideal for a leisurely lunch as much as a romantic rendezvous.
